We have received many enquiries recently, most of them are asking for Thermochromic masterbatch or Thermochromic pigment for moulding/extrusion applications.one of the more typical question is if above products suitable used for PBT moulding ?
Before answer this question, we would firstly ask below 3 questions
1.What's the specific product ?
2.What's the color of PBT ?
3.What's the processing temperature and residence time ?
Normally, customer would reply below answers:
1.Products: Bottle or something else
2.Colour:Natural white
3.Temperature:280C in 30 seconds
Based on above replies, we are afraid that Thermochromic masterbatch or Thermochromic pigment are not suitable for PBT moulding, since there are only PE based / PP based Thermochromic masterbatch available, and if you would like to use Thermochromic pigment, 280C is very high temperature for it.
